Credit cards are a very popular way to deposit money at online casinos, and the reasons are obvious. Most people have a credit card (or a debit card that can be used in a similar fashion), and they make.

Using cards offers endless benefits for fans of gaming online. If you use credit, online casinos, sites that host poker games, and sports wagering apps will all let you play instantly. But gambling sites accepting credit can give you so much more, including safety and security. Did you know card companies won’t hold you liable for charges you didn’t authorize? Although the top sites use advanced encryption to protect your data at casinos online, using your card gives you added peace of mind.

When you reach for credit cards, online casinos sites can help you rack up rewards. If your provider offers features like cash back, frequent flyer miles, or other perks, you can rack up points whenever you play. When you pair those perks with the loyalty programs available at the best online gaming sites, you can really profit in 2020.

Making A Real Cash Deposit At Online Casinos

When you use plastic, gambling sites will make depositing unbelievably simple. At the top online casinos, credit cards work just like when you shop online. After signing up at any of our recommended casinos online, visit the cashier and select your choice of Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. You’ll need to choose your real money deposit amount, enter your card number and billing address. After submitting your request, you’ll get an instant confirmation and can start playing for real cash immediately.

Use Your Visa, MasterCard, or Amex At Casinos Online

When making a real money deposit at online casinos, credit cards are accepted on almost every internet gambling site in 2020. Yet only a handful of sites accept every one. You'll find that your Visa will be accepted most often. The vast majority of sites also accept MasterCard as well. If you have an American Express or Discover, you’ll find fewer top gaming sites to choose from, but we've still found a handful of great real cash sites.

Tips For Using Your Credit Card At Casinos Online

When making your deposit at online casinos with credit cards, some sites will refuse to process payments from some countries. In addition, some banks frown upon gambling even at the most reputable gambling sites. If your deposit is rejected even after entering your details correctly, just try another card. At most online gaming sites, they are still the fastest way to pay, even for players who face minor obstacles. If your wallet isn't bursting full of alternatives, gaming sites can offer you individual workarounds and tips to get your card working.

Enjoy The Flexibility At Casinos Sites

If you don’t have access to credit, online casinos sites also accept debit cards. If your card has a Visa or MasterCard logo, you’ll have no trouble playing.

Credit card and Debit cards are the most popular way to deposit and withdraw funds from online casinos. And that is no surprise, given that they have become the ubiquitous way to pay both online and in our physical lives.

Credit Card History

Though in many cultures it seems passé now to carry around a chequebook or a great wad of cash, the history of credit and debit cards is not a particularly long one. In fact, on our Diner’s Club page, we explore how the first charge card was invented in the early 1950s. Following the charge card, the first credit card was Bank of America’s imaginatively named BankAmericard, released in 1958.

Amazingly, the idea of a debit card didn’t really come into fruition until the late 1970’s and even that was more a cash card, or ATM card, that had the primary purpose of withdrawing cash from your current/checking account. By the 80s and 90s, the notion caught, despite a complicated web of intra-country system that made it very difficult to conceptualise a worldwide debit card network.

Thanks to the worldwide ubiquity of Visa, the modern-day iteration of the Bank of America Americard, and MasterCard, a competitor to the Americard produced by a collective of Californian Banks like Wells Fargo, these pieces of plastic have become the world’s universal currency.

Credit Card and Debit Card Difference

Casino Credit Cards

Credit and Debit Cards both allow the customer to make a deposit on an online casino. The difference is where the money comes from, and how you pay the funds. When a customer makes a payment through their credit card, it is the card issuing company that transfers the funds. The customer has signed into an agreement to pay the card issuer back every month, but unlike a charge card, you only have to pay an agreed minimum, not the full amount. A customer has a revolving account with a credit card, which means that any unpaid balance simply rolls over to the next month. Though there are no penalty fees for this, the outstanding balance will accrue interest at a rate agreed when signing up for a card.

Debit Cards, which are usually attached to a personal bank account, simply draw funds straight from the customer’s current/checking account. There are also prepaid debit cards which do not require the customer to have a banking account, as funds can be loaded directly onto the card.

Advantages and Disadvantages

With a debit card, you cannot really spend money you don’t have. They are also easier to get hold of as customers are not subject to credit checks. With credit cards, it is possible to get into debt but they do offer a layer of customer protection as you are insured, and you can make fraud claims to the bank before having to pay.

Online Casinos That Accept Credit Card

In terms of online casinos, debit cards tend to be a better bet for making deposits and, especially, withdrawals. Sometimes, casinos will charge a small fee to pay using a credit card, where debit cards tend to incur no charges. Often, you’ll find that you won’t be able to withdraw your funds from an online casino, especially if it is a MasterCard.

You cannot really go wrong making casino deposits and withdrawals with a VISA debit card.

Other Available Payment Cards

Apart from Visa and MasterCard, who offer both credit and debit cards, you’ll see the logos on online casinos for the following card issuers: American Express (rare), Discover Card (Rare), Diners Club (fairly rare), Maestro (UK, common), Solo (UK, fairly rare), Carte Bleu (France, common), Interac (Cananda, common), VISA Electron (Common), and EC (Germany, common).
