I have added one of these Japanese pachislo slot machines to my Christmas wish-list.
I especially like this Spiderman one.
Has anyone bought one of these before? Has anyone used the retailer bluehotaru.com before?

The Monte Carlo Night company I work for has a few. No idea on buying them or who to use. But they work a little different than a domestic model. There are three 'stop' buttons on them you must hit and they change the speed of the reels to change payout rate. This makes it a game of 'skill.'
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others

The volume controller is located on the top center part of the machine’s front cover, above the reel window. The Sammy and Aristocrat models have a slide volume controller on the bottom of the electronic circuit board covered by the plastic case. Pachislo Sammy Gallop Slot Machine 1999. Volume Controls for Pachislo Slot Machine and Pachinko. A Pachislo machine is the Japanese version of the American slot machine. According the website Slots.CD, the machines are legal in the United States for recreational use and are referred to as “skill stop,” meaning the player determines the location the reels stop, as opposed to the randomness of American slots.

I have a Japanese slot machine in my garage that I don't want. It pays in balls, rather than coins, and is very loud. I would be happy to give it to any active member of the forum who wants it, however you have to haul it away.
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

SlotThanks for the offer, but I'm going to want one of the coin models, with the new fancy LCD overlay. And I don't have any way of picking it up. The site selling them will add a volume control for $25, which is a must, from what I hear.

That is probably correct as I hear Japanese like things far louder than in the USA. What is the LCD--do they use that instead of reels?

They have the LCD screen and reels. There have been similar machines in the US for a couple years. Basically the machine is a large LCD screen, with a hole cut out in the middle. The reels are in that hole. The bonus games play out on the screen. So it's a combo of a video slot and a reel slot.
The page for the Spiderman has a video that shows it better than I can explain it.
I've seen machines in Vegas where the screen is on top of the reels as well. I would assume they have those in Japan, but they might not be on the second-hand market yet.

I imported and sold Japanese slot machines for about a year. There are some very good ones and some very boring ones. Sammy makes some nice games, including Spider Man 2. The best games have interactive bonus rounds though. Rather than just watching the screen, you actually get to participate. After a while you'll grow tired of the save videos.

IGT's Dragon Dice is easily one of the top few Japanese slots. Spin Luck is another. Don't get me wrong, you'll like Spiderman, but for long term playability, interactivity is the key.
$299 is not a great price for the machine, but it's not a rip off like some places will try and charge. If it includes shipping it's a good price for a fixed price sale. I would suggest an additional 500 tokens. You should be able to get 500 for $50 or less on ebay or internet somewhere. Without them you'll be filling the inside hopper with coins that have already paid out during a jackpot.
Have fun with it!

Hi Wizard. Does it still work? If so, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Did you end up getting one, and if so, how was the site? I have two that we got on clearance at a Rec Warehouse, but it would be nice to find an online site in case I need parts (I can live without the bulb that burned out, but other stuff will be more critical.)
I grew up with two Pachinko machines in the house, and they really are better off in a garage. Those suckers are noisy.

I ended up ordering Galaxy Railways. It should ship out on Monday. I paid the extra $25 for volume controls and I'm anxious to see how well they work.
I picked that machine, because I'm wanting this as a conversation piece (as well as playing it). It has the most bells and whistles I could find, with a reel mode, a video slot mode, and touch screen.
I'll post more after I get it.
